Where is it?The Langkawi Islands lie in the Andaman Sea , situated 30km off the Malaysian West Coast, on the maritime border with Thailand . There are 104 islands in the Langkawi group. The main island covers an area of 478 sq km and much of this remains untouched and covered in tropical rainforest with approximately 70,000 inhabitants who live in small Malay villages or kampongs.

Langkawi Airport is close to Bon Ton Resort. Direct flights from the UK to Langkawi are available with Malaysia Airlines (12 hours) departing twice a week from London (Wednesday and Sunday) or indirect from Manchester (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). Or a one-hour flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) daily.
