Location
Where is it? Tioman was the mystical setting of Bali Hai for the 1958 Hollywood movie "South Pacific". It is located towards the very tip of the Malaysian peninsular on the East Coast. It is surrounded by the South China Sea and is the largest island along that stretch of coastline.
How to get there?
There is a daily flight with Berjaya Air via Subang Airport , Kuala Lumpur . Flight times from Subang Airport to Tetek Airport in Tioman depart at 9.40 AM and depart Tetek to Subang at 1.10 PM. Flight duration approx 1 hour.
Upon arrival at Tekek airport we will arrange for a sea bus to JapaMala. The distance from Tekek to JapaMala Resort is about 15 minutes by speedboat.
Tioman is a relatively undeveloped island - getting around is done mostly by trekking or by sea taxi. JapaMala Resort has its own boat, which is available for hire on an hourly or per day basis.
