What's special about it?
This tribal inspired resort reflects a classic Iban wooden Longhouse style and is proudly run by the Iban tribesmen. With 40 bedrooms, swimming pool, seminar and conference facilities, restaurant and bar and a delectable choice of eco and ethno-cultural excursions, the Regency sits peacefully along the river bank of the Rejang River overlooking seven river rapids and on the veranda of a virgin rainforest jungle, the Pelagus Rainforest. This ancient rainforest is home to the Iban tribes, descendant of the proud warrior Head Hunters of Borneo. The place is brought to life by vivid legends of warrior princesses and forest spirits with every rocky outcrop, every mountain, and every trail imbued with life and passion by the tribe's people. The Regency Pelagus Resort is the difference between merely visiting a destination and truly becoming part of the tribal experience.
When can you travel?
Travel all year round. March to October are the driest months for travel, however, remember that this is a rainforest. Daily rain occurs for an hour or two at most. November to February brings in the north-east monsoon, cooler weather, very few mosquitoes, and heavy, spectacular thunderstorms. These rarely last longer than 2-3 hours and you can expect sunshine most days. Temperatures vary little from month to month, ranging from a low of 22°c to highs of 32°c.
